I just purchased a new construction build in January. First home. Tried to install my Nest Learning 3rd gen. I’m confused whether or not I have a heat pump. From what I see online, because there was a cable in the O/B prior then I do so I set it up like I do as the Nest app asks me to. Hey folks, quick question. I'm trying to wire an Aprilaire 500 humidifier in with a Lennox furnace and Nest thermostat. My furnace has an "H" terminal and the wiring diagram shows a humidifier can be wired straight between "H" and "C". On the other hand, my Nest manual shows it wired in a loop with a relay, which I don't have on hand. My question is, if I just wire it straight to the furnace, is it just going to run the humidifier whenever the heat's running and end up being too humid?

UPDATE X2: After some advice, many many many hours of forum reading, and a last ditch effort to avoid a costly repair, it appears that the flame sensor rod/wire wasn't in line or close enough to the pilot. After cleaning the post with an emery board (no steel wool) and bending it forward by hand a little bit, the burners ignite and our furnace is blowing hot air.
